Let's Talk: Fuller House
So, much like a ton of other people, I spent this weekend binge watching the new Netflix Original Series, Fuller House. I grew up watching and loving Full House, so I was pretty excited to hear they were re-making it. In my head, I thought it was going to be something completely different, but really it turned out to pretty much be the exact same story line as the original show, except now DJ was the widower with 3 boys instead of 3 girls.
Despite it being the same plot line, and them hammering the nostalgia in from the get-go (I mean, everyone's catch phrases were said within the first 10 minutes or so), I did actually like it. I think the kids are great, especially DJ's middle son Max, I thought he was hilarious and adorable.
I liked how none of the characters seemed to have changed all that much; Joey still has his Mr. Woodchuck shtick, Danny and Becky still have their talk show, Jesse's hair is still fabulous, Kimmy Gibbler is still weird and kooky, and Steve is still desperately in love with DJ.
Let's talk about that for a second, too. Basically, a lot of the series centered around DJ trying to find out if she's ready for a relationship after losing her firefighter husband, and her trying to choose between her first love and high school sweetheart Steve, or her new partner in her vet business, Matt. You kinda don't know which she's going to go for, and the last episode really wraps that situation up nicely (no spoilers for those who haven't watched it yet!)
Although, I found the majority of the series really good, I did think it was a little weird that in one of the episodes Stephanie drops this major emotional bomb to DJ (again, no spoilers!), which they spend about 3 minutes on and then it's never spoken of/mentioned again. I'm not sure if maybe it'll be touched upon in any other upcoming series, but the way it was presently and then just sort of brushed off was so outta left field.
All in all, I definitely thought it was a nice re-make and did stay true to the original shows family feel, especially with the multiple group hugs in every episode. I also really loved the (not so subtle) nods to MaryKate and Ashley Olsen and how they didn't come back, and that after all these years, Uncle Jesse singing "Forever" still makes my heart melt.
Have any of you watched it yet? How'd you like it?

5 Fandom Friday: 5 Things in My Purse at All Times
Hello all!
It's been a while since I did a 5FF, and this one seemed fun for a nosy person like myself. For some reason, seeing what people carry with them always fascinates me. I'm definitely one of those people who carries way too much stuff in their bag; I get that from my Mom, who I'm pretty sure bought her bag from the same store as Mary Poppins. I will say though, I have gotten a bit better -- I used to carry an umbrella with me everywhere and was laughed at, until it started raining out of nowhere one day and I was the only dry one (WHO'S LAUGHING NOW, GUYS?!)
Anyways, here's just a few of my essentials that I always have with me:
1. Notebook/pen: I'm always scribbling down random ideas that pop into my head, or making lists of things, so I always make sure to have something to write on in my bag.
2. Tiny Medicine Cabinet: Whatever ails you, I probably have the cure. Whether you need a cough drop, a Tums, a band-aid, tissue, have a headache or you're allergies are killing you -- I gotchu covered.
3. Perfume: I've always been paranoid about being a smelly kid, so I literally keep a spray (and travel deodorants) everywhere. I keep one in my bag, one in my car-- anywhere I can stash one, really. Now, I should point out that I've never actually been the smelly kid, and that's the way I'd like to stay.
4. Chapstick: This is an absolute must for me. I always get the driest lips, especially in the wintertime, so I go through Chapstick like no one's business. I've tried tons of different brands, but none have ever worked as well as the Carmex brand, so if you have chapped lips, I'd definitely recommend checking that brand out.
5. Wallet: Well, this one's a no brainer.
What essentials do you guys keep with you? Lemme know!

Top 5: Rom-Coms
Hello all!
I figured since today is a day of love and mushiness, why not dedicate this Top 5 to the best rom-coms? I'll admit, I am a big fan of the rom-com (especially if it has Tom Hanks in it--you may notice a lack of him on this list, I did it on purpose because it was stressing me out trying to pick just one film because he is an absolute dream), so let's get right on to it.
1. Say Anything: This is the movie that made me fall in love with John Cusack. The one thing I loved most about this movie is how honest the relationship between Lloyd and Diane felt. It was like an actual high school relationship, without all the frills and cliches that normally accompany a teenage love story. Besides, who didn't swoon and wish for John Cusack to stand under your window with a boombox blasting Peter Gabriel?
2. 10 Things I Hate About You: Oh, Heath Ledger, you beauty. Not only is this one of the best modern day Shakespeare movies, it's just a great movie in general. Even the little bits are good-- like yeah it's great when Kat and Patrick get together and Bianca finally realizes how much of a jerk Joey Donner is, but how about Michael surprising Mandella at the prom in their Shakespearean finest? It's adorable and I love it. You also can't watch this movie without gushing over Heath Ledger's soccer field serenade or Kat reading her sonnet in class. This movie also makes me want to have a paint balloon fight because it looks super fun.
3. When Harry Met Sally: I love this movie for so many reasons. One being that I love all the little love stories in between the scenes (which were all real, apparently!), another being that it feels so real. Not every relationship starts out with both parties being madly in love with one another, and this movie really does a good job of setting up both characters and how they both gradually grow into their feelings, which makes for a wonderful speech by Harry at a New Years Eve party. Also, I feel for Sally because I too get cold in 75 degree weather and have some weird food habits.
4. Pride and Prejudice: I mentioned before that this is my go-to snow day movie, and it's because it just makes you feel cozy. I know some people aren't a huge fan of the 2005 edition with Keira Knightly, but I actually love it. Mainly because I find Matthew Macfadyen's Mr. Darcy a total babe. This has the same feel to me as When Harry Met Sally, two people who weren't really fond of each other at the beginning who grow to love one another. Also, it doesn't get any better than Mr. Darcy telling Elizabeth, "I love you, most ardently" in the pouring rain. Siiigh.
5. The Princess Bride: I mean. Come onnnnnn. It's such a classic.
Honorable Mention:
Big Fish: This may not be the most conventional love story, but good grief, if Ewan McGregor in a field of daffodils doesn't give me the biggest heart eyes.
