Punk Rock Superheroes

Ian Curtis as Spider-Man

Mark Mothersbaugh as Iron Man
Siouxsie Sioux as Scarlet Witch

Billy Idol as Thor

Johnny Rotten as Wolverine

Morrissey as the Hulk

Robert Smith as Nightcrawler

Gary Numan as Vision

If you were ever wondering what 80s music icons would look like if they were comic book characters (and I mean, who doesn't?) you're in luck because illustrator Butcher Billy has got you covered.  He recently put out the above as a follow up series to a project he started back in 2013 because the first set was such a massive success.

I think you could tell by now that I'm a big fan of mash-up artwork, and these are definitely some of my favorites I've seen. I think they're super fun and really clever, and I hope he keeps doing these because I would love to see what else he could come up with. You can see more of Butcher Billy's work here.

What do you think? Any favorites? I think mine's definitely a toss up between Morrissey and Robert Smith, so good!

Avengers: Age of Ultron Chronological Trailer

The next installment of the Avengers is still a painstaking 2 months away, but YouTube user Johnny B2K has eased the pain of waiting with this little baby.

He spliced together all the different trailers into one massive chronological trailer, and I feel like it helps you almost get a better sense of the movie; it goes from them jumping into action, to relaxing and just hanging out playing a game of "Who's Worthy?" with Thor's hammer, to going up against the big bad again.

I do feel like a few of the parts are a little shaky, but overall, I thought this was pretty cool. What do you guys think?

Top 5: Rainy Day Marathons

So, today it's pouring outside, which means I can do my favorite thing--lay around and binge watch Netflix. Here are my top picks for a rainy day TV-athon:

1. The X-Files- I'm a hugh believer in aliens and I love anything that has to do with alien conspiracies, and this is one show that combines all those loves into one. I will admit, watching it back now makes me feel so silly for getting so freaked out when I was little, but to little Heather, this show was suspenseful.

2. You've Got Mail- I've been on such a kick with this movie lately, but I mean it's Tom Hanks, so can you really blame me? Sometimes you just need to watch a rom-com, and he makes them all the better.

3. Star Wars- You could either go for the originals, or depending on how motivated you are in your binge watching, go for the whammy and watch all six of them. I've done that one multiple times, in fact when I was back in high school, I couldn't go a few months without having a Star Wars marathon. It's only like 16-ish hours or so, that's child's play!

4. Dead Poets Society- This is hands down one of my favorite movies. I definitely think it's one of Robin Williams best and it was one of those films growing up that really made me love literature and writing. Plus, how much of a babe is young Ethan Hawke?

5. Seinfeld- Honestly, I never really need a reason to binge watch Seinfeld, it's just that good.

Honorable Mention:

Any and all Harry Potter- I feel like this should just be a given, but I figured I'd just throw it out there just in case.

What are some of your go-to rainy day movies/tv shows? Lemme know!

Fight Club 2

I remember back in high school, my 10th grade English teacher got mad at me because I accidentally gave away the ending of Fight Club to him. I couldn't help it, I tend to get overexcited when I see people reading a book that I love, so just imagine my surprise when I read that Chuck Palahniuk is currently writing a sequel.

Debuting in May as a 10-part Dark Horse maxiseries illustrated by Cameron Stewart, Fight Club 2 will take place a decade after the movie and in both the future and the past. The story will mainly surround the Narrator, his marriage to Marla Singer and their 9 year old son, Junior, who he's failing just as his father failed him.

Palahniuk also mentioned that throughout this series,  readers will get a better look into the origins of Tyler Durden (he stated in an interview how Tyler may be something that's been around for centuries and not just a figment of the Narrator's imagination) and that something is going to happen to the Narrator's son which would lead him to turn back to Project Mayhem.

I don't know about any of you, but I'm really excited for this. I can't wait to see the artwork and how the story is going to play out, I hope it's as dark and gritty as I'm imagining.  What do you guys think?
