Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam Weston for access to cheap housing while they both got their degrees and when the time came, they would sign the divorce papers and part ways. Three years later, Anna lives paycheck-to-paycheck as a struggling artist trying to shoulder her father's enormous medical bills alone, while Liam is a professor at Stanford. When he shows up at Anna's doorstep, claiming they're still married and in desperate need of a favor, she's hesitant to help until she learns how much Liam is willing to shell out.

Liam is one of the four heirs to the Weston Food conglomerate, and despite wanting nothing to do with his family's business, he is interested in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance-- but there's a catch. Due to a clause in his grandfather's will, Liam won't see a dime of that money until he's been happily married for five years. With his family growing more suspicious of his mysterious wife, Liam convinces Anna to go to a remote island with him and his family for his sister's wedding. But with tensions rising higher than the humidity index, Liam will have to decide if the money is worth the wife he's falling head over heels for.

As much as I love CLo, their last few releases have been pretty meh, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was fun, but will I remember what happened in a few weeks? Not likely. I liked Anna and Liam. It was cute watching them awkwardly fumble about going from strangers who were married to something more. I loved how Anna was genuinely on Liam's side and only wanted what was best for him, which is something he hadn't had before. Watching her stand up to his disgustingly toxic family was so satisfying. I wished there was a bit more of an emotional connection between them, but it was okay. Even though it wasn't a new favorite, I'd still recommend it if you're looking for a quick summer read.
