Beginning of the Year Book Tag
Hello, all!
I always do the End of the Year Book Tag, but I never knew there was a Beginning of the Year tag until I saw it on YouTube, so I had to jump on it!
How many books are you planning to read this year?
I always put my GoodReads goal to 150.
What is a book you're likely to reread this year?
I've actually already reread Killers of a Certain Age because I got an ARC for the second book and needed a refresh.
A priority on your 2025 TBR?
I don't really have one particular title, so I'll just say any book on my physical TBR as I'm still trying to whittle that number down.
Something new you want to read? (Genre or trope)
I'd like to read more classics and non-fiction this year.
A popular book you want to read in 2025?
Anything by Kristin Hannah. I've only read The Nightingale, and everyone always raves about her books so I'd like to pick up some more.
A book that's been on your TBR that you probably won't read?
Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson. I'm still on the fence about whether or not I want to continue the Stormlight Archives series, so we'll see if I get around to this novella.
A series you want to read this year?
The Shades of Magic series by VE Schwab. I read A Darker Shade of Magic years ago and really liked it but never continued with the other two books for whatever reason.
Your auto-buy authors going into 2025?
These always stay the same, but I've since added Meg Shaffer to the list.
A book adaptation you're looking forward to this year?
People We Meet On Vacation!
A sequel you're anticipating?
Does Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins count? I'm going to say yes.
Bookish things you're leaving in 2024?
Pushing myself to finish review books if I'm not enjoying them. I have no problem DNF-ing regular books, but I always feel guilty when it comes to ARCs so I end up forcing myself to finish, which leads to a worse reading experience.
How has your reading taste evolved from last year?
Maybe I've gotten a little more into sci-fi? I think they've pretty much stayed the same, to be honest.
Here are the questions if you'd like to do this as well!
