Mini Thoughts
Hello, all!
I've only read one other book by Williams, but I enjoy her writing style. It's witty yet still hits you right in the gut. I liked the magical realism aspect as well. It made the story feel fairy tale-esque, especially with how Ricki and Ezra were fated to meet. I liked both of them and was interested in how their relationship would play out. It didn't wow me as much as I expected, but I still enjoyed it. Aside from the romance, I loved seeing all the flashbacks to Ezra's past during the Harlem Renaissance. The culture and music made his chapters seem so vibrant. I also loved the secondary characters, Tuesday and Ms. Della. I found the ending too predictable, but overall, I liked it.
I'm sad to see this series end because I love it. The Bergmans are one of those fictional families I wish I were a part of. I've loved seeing all the siblings find their HEAs, and none were more deserving than Viggo. He's always been the hopeless romantic helping his siblings find love, so I couldn't wait for him to get his book. I liked how he and Tallulah were so different. They very much were that golden retriever/black cat pairing. Their relationship was so tender and honest. They both go on an emotional journey, and I loved seeing their vulnerability. It was a beautiful way to round out this series and one of my favorite installments.

Business Casual- B.K. Borison: Nova Porter has enough on her plate without needing to add a relationship to the mix. She has her hands full, ensuring everything is perfect for her new tattoo studio's grand opening, but that doesn't mean she can't make time to flirt with Charlie Milford. Despite not being a resident of their small town, Charlie spends as much time as he can in Inglewild, where he's an honorary citizen, and he loves nothing more than ruffling Nova's feathers. To get her mind back on track, Nova propositions Charlie. The pair agree to have one night together to get each other out of their systems, and then they'll go back to their respective responsibilities. More than one night is needed, and with Charlie in town for the month, they don't see the harm in continuing their little bed sport. But as the weeks pass and feelings deepen, can Charlie convince Nova that he's a risk worth taking?
Ugh, I'm so sad to see this series end. I love it so much. Each installment feels like being wrapped in a cozy blanket and given a warm drink to sip. Borison has such a knack for writing realistic relationships that never fail to make me swoon. Charlie and Nova were so fun. I adored the teasing banter and loved how they would rile each other up. Charlie is the human equivalent of a golden retriever, and Nova has this tough exterior with a squishy inside. They complemented one another perfectly. One of my favorite things about this series has always been the setting. The small-town vibe is perfect. I always finish these books wishing I could live in Inglewild. The secondary characters also shine, and I love the little-found family all the characters have created. If you're looking for a fun and flirty rom-com for the summer, I recommend checking it out.

A Love Song for Ricki Wilde- Tia Williams: To be a Wilde is to uphold a legacy, and unlike the rest of her family, Ricki Wilde has never fit in the mold. She longs to do her own thing and pursue her passions. So when the elderly Ms. Della offers Ricki the use of her Harlem townhouse to open a flower shop, Ricki doesn't think twice about packing her bags and taking the first flight out of Atlanta. One night, Ricki runs into a mysterious stranger who turns her world upside down. There's something different about Ezra Walker. He looks and acts as if he's from another time. Something about him draws Ricki as if the two were destined to meet. There's no denying the connection between Ricki and Ezra, but there's more to Ezra than meets the eye, and his story will change Ricki's life forever.

Only and Forever- Chloe Liese: Viggo Bergman has spent years helping his siblings find their happily ever afters, always wondering when it'll be his turn. But between opening up his dream bookshop, running a book club, teaching kids soccer, and adopting a brood of pets, Viggo hasn't left much room for romance. Tallulah Clarke is a cynical thriller author with a bad case of writer's block. According to her editor, her latest book needs a lot of help in the romance department, something Tallulah isn't very fluent in, so she and Viggo strike a deal. The pair will live together, and Tallulah will help Viggo out in his store while he adds his romantic flair to her plotline. As they spend more time together, it's clear there's a strong connection between them that will challenge their views on love and hopefully lead to their own happily ever after.
