Cash Review (Lucky River Ranch, #1)
Hello, all!
I've been craving a new smalltown/cowboy romance to binge since finishing up the Rebel Blue Ranch series, and I think I found in in Cash by Jessica Peterson.
Pub Date: 6-17-25 Adult - Contemporary |
Mollie Luck has been estranged from her father for years, but when he passes away, she finds herself the new owner of his massive cattle ranch. Mollie hasn't been back at the ranch since her parents' divorce when she was a child, so she intends to sell the property and be done with it. The only problem? There's a stipulation in the will that states she must stay on the ranch for a whole year before she can claim her inheritance.
Cash Rivers has faced more hardships than anyone should. His parents passed away when he was barely an adult, leaving him to step up and care for his younger brothers. As the ranch's foreman, Cash was promised the land, so he's not happy when it goes to a city girl who doesn't even know the first thing about being a cowboy. Cash is determined to run Mollie off, but when the pair start working around the ranch together, their bickering turns into something more. Mollie's whole life is back in Dallas, and her stay in Hartsville was only supposed to be temporary. However, she can't deny that the ranch and a certain cowboy have captured her heart.I never thought cowboy romances would be for me, but I can't get enough of them. They're so fun. I've had this series on my radar for a while now, and I'm glad I finally picked it up. Peterson's writing felt very down-to-earth and bingeable. I flew through this in almost one sitting because I couldn't get enough of the characters. Mollie and Cash butted heads from the moment they met, and you could tell that once the tension between them broke, it'd be explosive. Their chemistry was through the roof. Cash had a tough exterior, but he was caring and loyal on the inside. Mollie came across as a stuck-up rich girl, but she was intelligent and hardworking. They balanced each other out so well. I loved the ranch setting and all the side characters, and I'm excited to continue the series.
