Many would call Jackson Clark stuck-up, but he prefers the term practical. He thrives on a list and likes things just so. He's content hiding away in his office in between his thirty-second weather reports for the local Baltimore radio station. Jackson doesn't like to deviate from his very organized plans, and his routine is thrown for a loop when he's assigned to cover a major weather event with the chaotic weather girl from the TV station next door.
Delilah Stewart wants nothing more than to be taken seriously as a meteorologist, but her station manager is determined to make her into a puff piece. Instead of reporting on the five-day forecast, Delilah usually finds herself dressed up in some ridiculous outfit, doing a feature on whatever silly event is taking place. The most interaction Delilah and Jackson have had is through passive-aggressive Post-It notes criticizing Delilah's parking, so needless to say, the pair isn't thrilled about their assignment. But as the snow piles up, the pair strike up a tenuous partnership that soon turns into more.Oh, Jackson, Jackson, Jackson. We love an adorably uptight cinnamon roll of a man who rambles about weather phenomena when he's nervous. I was so endeared to this man from the moment we met him in First-Time Caller, and I fell even more in love with him here. He's just so good. I loved learning more about him and the reasons behind why he is the way he is (and his relationship with his sisters? Swoon.) It was so cute watching Delilah bust through his walls and shake him up. The pair worked so well together. Delilah lightened Jackson up, while he encouraged her to demand more for herself. Delilah was so charming and had such a satisfying character arc. I thought the pacing of their romance was good, and I enjoyed the forced proximity aspect of it; however, the overall story felt a little too lengthy. Still, I adored this and can't wait for the next one.
