But after a wild night in Vegas, Kennedy finds herself hitched to Isaiah Rhodes, the infuriatingly charming shortstop for the Warriors.

Isaiah has been pining after Kennedy for years, so he is more than happy about their situation, but understands this puts a target on her back at work. To save her position, the pair must pretend their whirlwind nuptials were planned, but somewhere along the way, the line between what's real and what's pretend begins to blur. As the end of the season draws near, Kennedy is left to decide if she wants to pursue her career or follow her heart.

I saw a TikTok about this book, and I dropped everything to read it; I'm so glad I did. Isaiah Rhodes, the man that you are! He was everything that I love in a man. He was charming, funny, a little too arrogant for his own good, but with a heart of gold. He was so down bad for Kennedy, and I was eating it up. I loved how much he cared about her well-being and made sure she knew how special she was to him, especially since no one ever did that before. Kennedy started off a little stand-offish, and watching her open up was so touching. I love a marriage of convenience/fake relationship trope, so I knew I would enjoy this, but I didn't think I would be as obsessed as I was. Their relationship had me straight up giddy. Everything from the banter to the chemistry was spot-on. The conflict was predictable, but I had so much fun with this that I didn't even care. I'm so excited to go back and read the rest of this series now.
