May OwlCrate Review

Hello, all!

The theme for May was "Against All Odds." Let's get into it!

First up, we had the next installment in their enamel pin collection. This one is inspired by We Hunt the Flame.

Keeping with the next installment theme, we had another one of the Lord of the Rings ceramic bowls.

Then we had this fun wax seal kit inspired by Dance of Thieves. I don't really use these, but I like the design on the seal.

Next up was this bookmark tin inspired by The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. I don't know if I'll use this as it's intended, but I like the design and color scheme.

The last item was this set of transparent bookmarks inspired by Daughter of the Moon Goddess, Six Crimson Cranes, and A Magic Steeped in Poison. I've never received transparent bookmarks before, and the artwork on them are stunning.

May's book was Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross. This follows two rival journalists who fall in love while at the frontlines of a war between gods. I've actually reviewed the book last month, so you can see my thoughts here. (Spoiler alert: I really loved it.)

Now, I've gotta be honest-- I don't like this version. I like the foiling on the hardback and the stenciled edges, but something about the actual cover just doesn't work for me which is sad because I did enjoy this book so much. What do you think about May's box?

  1. The OwlCrate edition of Divine Rivals is so pretty! Once again, I'm just so glad they're finally doing sprayed pages!
