Adult - Romance

Returning to her hometown of Harstville, Texas, for the first extended visit since college, Sally is eager to reconnect. Since leaving, she's only managed short visits while pursuing her dream of becoming a top veterinary surgeon. Now, she's spending some much needed quality time with her family and friends before starting her dream job in upstate New York. While in town, Sally craves some mindless fun—and knows exactly who can help.

Wyatt is known as Hartsville’s playboy—fun-loving, never serious, and always up for a good time. He and Sally have been best friends and secretly in love for years. When Sally asks Wyatt to teach her how to let loose, their fake flirting soon turns real. As Sally’s move to New York approaches, she faces a choice between her career and her heart.

I think it's safe to say that I've found a new cowboy romance series to obsess over. The first book was enjoyable, but this one had me fully hooked. Wyatt had me swooning from page one-- his playful charm hides real depth, which he only reveals to Sally. She saw through to the heart of him, and it was sweet watching him finally get the courage to open up to her about all the grief he's carried since he was young. Sally was also a delight. She was intelligent, hard-working, and cared so much about her community and loved ones. I found her father's pressure frustrating, leading to a dramatic confrontation, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this one and can't wait to continue the series.
