End of the Year Book Haul
Hello, all!
I can't even remember the last time I did a book haul. My goal for the year had been to try and utilize my local library a bit more because I had gotten to the point where I was literally tripping over stacks of books, and I'm very happy to say that for the most part, I stuck to that. Until Black Friday where I bought a massive stack, but in my defense, the sales on Book Depository and Book Outlet were just way too good to pass up. And then I got even more for Christmas, so I thought I would round out this year with the bookish goodies I picked up/received. As always, let me know what you all are reading!
I won't go into detail on all of them cause that would be a super long post, so I'll just do an overview. I've become a huge fan of Book Outlet and Book Depository the last few months, and thanks to their wonderful sales, I picked up:
1. Sailor Moon, Eternal Edition- Vol. 2
2. Robin- Dave Itzkoff
3. Children of Blood and Bone- Tomi Adeyemi
4. Caraval- Stephanie Garber
5/6. Scythe; Thunderhead- Neal Shusterman
7. Invictus- Ryan Graudin
8. Down Among the Sticks and Bones- Seanan McGuire
9. Daughter of the Pirate King- Tricia Levenseller
10/11/12. A Study in Charlotte; The Last of August; The Case for Jamie- Brittany Cavallaro
13. Red Queen- Victoria Aveyard
14. The Dark Between Stars- Atticus
Then for Christmas, I received:
1. Goosebumps Retro Scare Set
2. The Witch of Willow Hall- Hester Fox
3. A Darker Shade of Magic- V.E. Schwab
4. Grave Mercy- Robin LaFevers
5. Truly Devious- Maureen Johnson
6. Wildcard- Marie Lu
7. The Last Magician- Lisa Maxwell
8. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Gift Edition
9. Six of Crows Collectors Edition
10. Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook
There were a few I wanted to especially highlight because they're just super gorgeous:
First is this edition of POA. Just look at it! The slip case, the gold foiling Knight Bus, and it has a ribbon bookmark! Ugh, I love it. I've started collecting editions of Harry Potter, and these gift editions are some of the prettiest I've seen, so I knew I needed to start with my favorite book.
Next is the collectors edition Six of Crows. This cover is everything. I love the black and red and the detailing is great. There's also maps on both end papers (I'm such a sucker for a map in a book), red sprayed edges, and character illustrations.
Goosebumps was one of the series that really sparked my love of reading growing up. I had pretty much every book that came out, but I moved around a lot as a kid so I lost almost all of them. When I saw this retro tin at Barnes and Noble, I knew it had to be mine. It has most of my favorites in it, so I'm pretty pumped on it.
I love to bake so one of my roommates got me this and I'm so excited to try my hand at making some wizarding treats! I flipped through it, and it seems to have a really good mix of desserts and actual meals, so catch me making some cauldron cakes in the new year.
And what's Christmas without buying yourself a little gift, right? I picked up this stunning edition of The Princess Bride from The Folio Society and I'm in love. This is one of my favorite books and I've always been on the hunt for a pretty edition of it, so once I saw it in an Instagram ad I immediately bought it. And it has gold foiling and a map inside! What more could a gal ask for?
So there's my little book haul. A lot of these I've actually already read but didn't have a physical copy of, but I'm excited to dive into the few new ones I received. Big thank you to all my friends and family for getting me so many lovely things. Hope everyone has a nice and safe New Years!

OMG I freaking love that edition of 'The Princess Bride'!!! & I remember owning the VHS copy of the TV version of 'The Haunted Mask' when I was younger, it reeeeeally creeped me out as a kid XD
ReplyDeleteOh my god, yes! That one always scared me! I refused to wear any sort of mask after I watched it haha.
DeleteLooks like you got an amazing haul! I love going to the thrift store and finding little gems. The Harry Potter book is gorgeous! I have a similar version for Deathly Hallows. The Princess Bride is beautiful too! Hope you have a good year of reading ahead! Happy new year!
